The role reports to the Director of the Copyright Law Division, supervises lawyers and external consultants, and collaborates with CCIS and other UN agencies to deliver high-quality legal, regulatory and policy advice on copyright and related

Qualifikationen

• Advanced university degree in law. A first-level degree may be accepted with two years' relevant experience.
• Postgraduate specialization in intellectual property law including copyright and related rights.

Aufgaben

• Draft opinions and advice to Member States on legal texts, draft bills, draft rules and regulations, policy documents and other materials related to copyright.
• Undertake and supervise research on needs of countries in copyright and related rights.
• Develop and lead studies or projects related to strategies in new areas of copyright law.
• Draft and provide input to guides, legal opinions, publications and other documents.
• Supervise and guide junior staff and external consultants in producing quality advisory work.
• Maintain contacts with authorities and UN entities for legislative and policy activities.
• Coordinate training and awareness-raising activities and workshops.
• Prepare work plans, reports, and evaluations.
• Perform other related duties as required.
