World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva seeks a Legal Counsellor to coordinate the Copyright Law Division's advisory work for Member States on copyright and related rights. Under the Director, you will supervise lawyers, draft legislative and policy input, and liaise with UN partners to advance balanced legal frameworks and capacity building in diverse jurisdictions.

Qualifikationen

• Seven+ years of IP law experience including copyright and related rights.
• Experience drafting legislative, regulatory and policy advice in IP.
• Experience with copyright law in developing countries.
• Experience in a multilateral intergovernmental organization advising on IP.
• Experience in project management.
• Excellent English and another UN language; strong communication skills.
• Good knowledge of another official UN language.

Aufgaben

• Draft, comment on and provide legal opinions to Member States on copyright matters.
• Lead research and analyses on country needs in copyright and related rights.
• Develop studies on strategies in new IP law areas.
• Draft inputs to guides and publications for the Division and Sector.
• Supervise junior staff and consultants to deliver timely policy advice.
• Maintain contacts with national authorities and UN partners.
• Coordinate with other WIPO Sectors on legislative and policy work.
• Organize and participate in training and awareness activities.
• Prepare work plans, reports and evaluations.
• Perform other related duties as required.
