Unique AI in Zurich is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to build a secure, automated platform running in production. You will manage Kubernetes clusters, create Terraform modules, and implement GitOps across Azure, GCP, AWS, and on-prem GPUs. Job Description

Defining how AI and finance work together - securely, intelligently, and at scale. We at Unique AI are building a highly secure generative AI platform, tailored for the financial sector. Utilizing AI, LLM, agentic and Skills technologies, we aim to revolutionise the Financial industry with an AI Automated workforce. We are now looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who thrives on building secure, automated platforms and running them reliably in production.

Job Requirements

• Experience:5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
  • Kubernetes: Hands-on experience operating production clusters and platform services using Helm and GitOps tools such as Argo CD, including networking, ingress, certificates, secrets, and policies.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Strong experience using Terraform at scale, including reusable modules, state management, and pull-request workflows such as Atlantis, as well as configuration management with Ansible.
  • Cloud, Networking, and Security:Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform, ideally Azure, combined with strong knowledge of Linux, DNS, private networking, VPNs, identity, least-privilege access, secrets, and encryption
  • Operations: Experience with monitoring and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana, CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, and handling incidents in production.
• Communication and Ownership: Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders and takes end-to-end ownership from design to production
• Location: Based in Switzerland and holding a valid Swiss work permit, as required for data-protection purposes.
• Languages: Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Nice to Have: Experience with Cilium, Kyverno, Crossplane, Tailscale, Kubernetes GPU workloads, infrastructure for LLM applications such as AI gateways and vector databases, CKA or CKAD certification, banking or another regulated industry, or using AI coding agents in daily work

Job Responsibilities

• Build and run the infrastructure behind Unique AI across Azure, GCP, AWS and our own GPU servers in Zurich, from cloud landing zones to dedicated client environments
• Operate our growing fleet of Kubernetes clusters and the platform services on them (AI gateway, vector and relational databases, message queues, identity, registries) through GitOps
• Develop and maintain our Terraform modules, including our open-source modules on GitHub
• Keep the platform secure: network and egress policies, least-privilege access, secrets management and vulnerability management
• Improve CI/CD and release automation together with our developers: pipelines, self-hosted runners, dependency updates and automated deployments
• Own monitoring, alerting and cloud costs, take part in the on-call rotation and follow incidents up with post-mortems
• Support our solution engineers and our clients’ IT and security teams during onboarding, security reviews and audits
• Automate repetitive operations work, mentor colleagues and keep our runbooks and documentation up to date
