Zusammenfassung

An international organisation within the life sciences sector is seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead procurement and sourcing activities for Civil, Structural and Building (CSA) packages across major capital investment projects.

This role will work closely with Engineering, Construction and Project Delivery teams to develop sourcing strategies, optimise commercial outcomes and ensure successful project execution across complex construction environments.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Construction) or Business.
• Technical engineering background strongly preferred, ideally within Civil Engineering.
• 10-15 years' experience in Procurement, Category Management and/or Construction Sourcing.
• Significant experience supporting CAPEX projects within regulated industries such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals or related sectors.
• Proven expertise in CSA (Civil, Structural and Architectural) or construction sourcing.
• Demonstrated success in complex commercial negotiations and contract management.
• Experience supporting large-scale greenfield and/or brownfield capital projects.
• Strong understanding of construction execution, engineering principles and project lifecycles.
• Fluent German and English language skills.
• Strong commercial and strategic mindset.
• Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• Effective stakeholder management across engineering, construction and project environments.
• High level of ownership, accountability and delivery focus.
• Supplier relationship and contractor performance management expertise.

Aufgaben

• Define and implement category strategies covering civil works, structural steel and building construction packages.
• Lead sourcing activities, tender processes and supplier selection for construction-related CAPEX scopes.
• Manage commercial negotiations, contracts, framework agreements and pricing structures.
• Partner with Engineering, Construction and Project teams to ensure early procurement involvement throughout project lifecycles.
• Develop and manage strategic supplier and contractor relationships.
• Drive cost optimisation, benchmarking and value engineering initiatives.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks relating to schedule, cost, health and safety, and supply continuity.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and construction standards.
• Translate category strategies into project-specific procurement and execution plans.
• Monitor supplier and contractor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Purpose

Lead the development and execution of category strategies for Civil, Structural and Building Interior Works within CAPEX projects. Ensure alignment between engineering requirements, project execution needs and supply market capabilities to deliver safe, compliant, cost-effective and schedule-driven procurement solutions.
