SIX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate reliable, scalable systems powering financial index services. The role is based in Zurich with collaboration across teams in Zurich and India, delivering robust platforms at the intersection of data, engineering and financial markets.

Qualifikationen

• Deep hands-on software engineering with Java (Spring Boot) and Python, including building, testing, deploying, and supporting production services.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and make sound architecture and engineering decisions in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of backend and distributed system design, including scalability, resilience, performance, observability, and maintainable integration patterns.
• Experience using modern engineering tooling and AI-assisted development to improve productivity and code quality.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in building and operating production systems.
• Fluent English communication skills; German is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python for index calculation and data processing platforms.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of features, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality expectations.
• Take technical ownership of complex components and features, from solution design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with SRE teams to ensure systems are reliable and production-ready, contributing to improvements where needed.
• Drive architecture and engineering decisions to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability.
