Job summary

Jet Aviation Basel is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to advance aviation quality and safety. You will shape a proactive culture, ensure compliance with complex aviation regulations, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• A degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or aeronautical engineering, or an ICAO aircraft maintenance or pilot’s license.
• At least ten years of maintenance, production or design experience in aviation.
• Extensive experience conducting Part 145 certifying staff assessments.
• Formal qualifications in QMS, SMS, auditing techniques, MEDA investigations and Human Factors Error Management.
• Strong knowledge of aviation quality and safety management tools and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 21G, Part 21J, Part 66, Part 147, Human Factors, SMS, MEDA, ISO 9000 auditing concepts, EN 9100 and EN 9110.

Responsibilities

• Audit Program Management: Plan and conduct audits, coordinate resources, follow up on corrective actions, and ensure findings are closed.
• Investigations and Human Factors: Lead or support MEDA and occurrence investigations, identify root causes, strengthen Human Factors Error Management.
• Certifying Staff Assessments: Conduct Part 145 certifying staff assessments and promote proactive quality culture.
• Quality and Safety Performance: Promote quality, safety and human factors across the organization.
• Management Reporting: Review data, identify trends and present insights to Management.
• Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes and support implementation of solutions.
• Authority and Stakeholder Liaison: Work with FOCA, FAA, customers and OEMs on approvals and audits.
• Capability and Interface Management: Review Part 145 and Part 21G capability lists and ensure cooperation across stakeholders.
• Procedure and Process Development: Create and improve quality/safety procedures and documentation.
• Documentation System Oversight: Manage document control and communication of changes.
• Training and Coaching: Advise staff on procedures, regulations, SMS, MOE, POE, human factors.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify improvements and lead projects enhancing quality and safety.
