Job summary

Jet Aviation Basel is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to champion aviation excellence. You will translate regulatory requirements into practical quality and safety solutions across the organization.

You will lead audits, investigations, certifying staff assessments, and partner with FOCA/FAA and OEMs to ensure Part 145 compliance. Join a proactive team delivering safe, compliant operations in a dynamic aviation environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or aeronautical engineering, or an ICAO aircraft maintenance or pilot’s license.
• At least ten years of maintenance, production or design experience within the aviation industry.
• Extensive experience conducting Part 145 certifying staff assessments.
• Formal qualifications in QMS, SMS, auditing techniques, MEDA investigation and Human Factors Error Management.
• Strong knowledge of quality and safety management tools, concepts and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 21G, Part 21J, Part 66 and Part 147, plus Human Factors, SMS, MEDA, ISO 9000 auditing concepts, EN 9100 and EN 9110 requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; strong report-writing and procedure-development capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive and independent working style.
• Structured, proactive approach with ability to drive quality programs to completion.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills; ability to influence changes in practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct audits; coordinate resources; ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Lead or support MEDA and occurrence investigations; identify root causes.
• Conduct Part 145 certifying staff assessments and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Promote quality, safety and human factors across the organization.
• Review audit and occurrence data; identify trends and present insights to Management.
• Monitor regulatory changes; evaluate impact and support implementation.
• Work with FOCA, FAA, customers and OEMs on approvals and audits.
• Review Part 145 and Part 21G capability list amendments; ensure cooperation between Part 21J/G and Part 145 stakeholders.
• Create, review and improve Quality and Safety procedures and documentation.
• Monitor the company documentation system; ensure updates are controlled and communicated.
• Coach operational staff on procedures, regulations, quality, SMS, MOE, POE and human factors.
• Identify improvement opportunities and lead projects to enhance quality and performance.
