EY in Switzerland is seeking an Audit Senior in the Financial Services group to work on audits of major banks and financial institutions. You will gain exposure to complex banking environments, global audit teams and cross-border engagements.

This role offers the opportunity to develop deep industry expertise, build trusted client relationships, and lead audit workstreams while mentoring junior staff across local and international engagements.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years audit experience, ideally banking/financial services.
• Pursuing Swiss CPA qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss and international accounting standards.
• Understanding of financial service industry processes and systems.
• Assertive, proactive, with good organizational skills.
• Ability to network and build client relationships within large organizations.
• Demonstrated integrity, respect and teamwork.
• Willingness to lead audit workstreams and supervise junior team members.
• Fluency in German and English; French is a strong asset.

The opportunity

As an Audit Senior in our Financial Services department, you will work on audits of some of Switzerland's largest financial institutions. You will gain exposure to complex banking environments, global audit teams and cross-border engagements while building deep industry expertise in one of the most dynamic sectors of the Swiss economy.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale international audit engagements, collaborate with professionals across multiple jurisdictions and develop into a trusted advisor for leading financial institutions.

Your key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction. Proactively maintain contact with the client throughout the year.


• Coordinating the translation of the audit strategy to detailed audit programs.


• You will help us to grow our dynamic practice through the development of trusted client relationships and high performing teams.


• Furthermore, you will be involved in the audits of local and international financial service providers which prepare their financial statements in accordance with Swiss or international accounting standards.


• Delivery of FINMA supplementary audits on special audit topics

What we look for

• You have at least 2 – 4 years audit experience, ideally gained within the banking, asset management, insurance or broader financial services industry.


• You are currently pursuing the Swiss CPA qualification.


• You have strong knowledge of Swiss and international accounting standards


• Thorough understanding of the current business environment, processes and systems landscape in the financial service industry


• Assertive and proactive approach, good organizational skills


• Ability to network effectively within large organizations and build relationships with individuals and clients, based on doing the right thing


• You demonstrate integrity, respect and teaming


• You have energy, enthusiasm and the courage to lead audit workstreams and supervise junior team members on large national and international financial services engagements.


• You are fluent in both German and English, written and spoken. French language skills are considered a strong asset.
