Job summary

Nestlé Research is seeking a Senior Technician in Analytical Chemistry in Vaud, Switzerland. You will develop and manage analytical methods supporting food safety and contaminant risk assessment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver reliable data and robust solutions.

You will lead method validation, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement while coaching apprentices and promoting strong lab practices and safety.

Qualifications

• Background in analytical chemistry (CFC/HES/Bachelor's or equivalent).
• Hands-on industrial experience in analytical chemistry to deliver reliable methods and support.
• Strong expertise in LC and GC coupled with mass spectrometry techniques and related software/instruments.
• Assessment of rapid methods (e.g., lateral-flow assays) against method requirements.
• Collaborative, proactive across teams, organized, and positive mindset.
• Proficient English and French reading/writing.
• Collaborative, innovative, respectful approach to create shared value.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical methods strengthening food safety, compliance, and risk assessment.
• Manage laboratory equipment to deliver reliable data and high-quality results.
• Drive method validation, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement per quality standards.
• Provide technical assistance to markets and partners with practical recommendations and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to scientific reports, laboratory procedures, and publications.
