Job summary

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is seeking a Senior Analyst to advance the methodology, production, and interpretation of airline statistics within the Data Services, Governance and Quality team in Geneva. You will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure data quality, and deliver insights from the IATA Statistics Solution.

Ideal candidates hold a master's in a quantitative field, 4+ years of statistical experience, and proficiency in R, Python, SQL, AWS, dbt, and Streamlit.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in statistical analysis, applied statistics, or similar roles involving production and interpretation of statistical outputs.
• Hands-on experience with statistical/analytical tools such as R or Python, SQL, and modern data environments (AWS, dbt); Streamlit or similar tools are an advantage.
• Strong communication and operational support skills, with the ability to explain statistical concepts, respond to user queries, and deliver dedicated studies.
• Prior experience in a statistical role at large institutions is a strong plus.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Apply statistical methods to analyse airline and industry datasets, supporting reliable indicators, trends, validations, and insights from the IATA Statistics Solution.
• Work with SQL and modern data tooling (including AWS, dbt, and related platforms) to prepare, validate, and improve statistical datasets and analytical workflows.
• Develop analytical outputs and lightweight applications (e.g. Streamlit) to support monitoring, reporting, and user-facing analysis.
• Provide operational support to industry members and internal users by responding to queries, clarifying methodology/definitions, and investigating data or statistical issues.
• Deliver dedicated statistical studies and ad hoc analyses, and contribute to continuous improvement of methodologies, documentation, controls, and data products.
