Job summary

IATA Consulting in Switzerland (Genève) invites applications for a Senior Analyst role within the Data Services, Governance and Quality team. You will apply statistical methods to airline data, collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders, and develop lightweight analytics tools.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in a quantitative field with 4+ years of statistical experience and strong Python/R, SQL, AWS/dbt skills.

About the team you are joining

You are joining the Data Services, Governance and Quality team within I&D. Our team enables IATA to collect, manage, govern, document, and use data in a trusted and consistent way across the organization and with industry partners.

The team supports enterprise data services, data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data platforms that help improve decision‑making, operations, and industry collaboration.

What your day would be like

As Senior Analyst, you will focus on the methodological soundness, analysis, and operational use of data within the IATA Statistics Solution. You will work closely with the Senior Statistician, Data Engineering, business stakeholders, and Data Services colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Apply statistical methods to analyse airline and industry datasets, supporting reliable indicators, trends, validations, and insights from the IATA Statistics Solution.
• Work with SQL and modern data tooling (including AWS, dbt, and related platforms) to prepare, validate, and improve statistical datasets and analytical workflows.
• Develop analytical outputs and lightweight applications (e.g. Streamlit) to support monitoring, reporting, and user‑facing analysis.
• Provide operational support to industry members and internal users by responding to queries, clarifying methodology/definitions, and investigating data or statistical issues.
• Deliver dedicated statistical studies and ad hoc analyses, and contribute to continuous improvement of methodologies, documentation, controls, and data products.

We would love to hear from you if

• A master's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in statistical analysis, applied statistics, or similar roles involving production and interpretation of statistical outputs.
• Hands‑on experience with statistical/analytical tools such as R or Python, SQL, and modern data environments (AWS, dbt); Streamlit or similar tools are an advantage.
• Strong communication and operational support skills, with the ability to explain statistical concepts, respond to user queries, and deliver dedicated studies.
• Prior experience in a statistical role, for example at an airline, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Ministry of Transport (MoT), central bank, or other large institution, is a strong plus.
• Fluency in English is required.
