Job summary

Harmattan AI, Lausanne, seeks a Senior Design Release Manager to bridge the gap between initial mechanical concepts and full-scale manufacturing of composite airframes. You will own the manufacturing dossier, set release standards, and lead GD&T, tolerances, and transfer gate decisions as part of the design loop.

From day one, you will collaborate with design engineers to optimize layups and joints, manage ECR workflows, and coordinate with production and suppliers to address manufacturing

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-up analyses, and clear acceptance criteria.
• Deep knowledge of composite materials, layup sequences, tooling limitations, cure cycles, and bonded joints.
• Proven track record owning released drawing packages, structured BOMs, and ECR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the complete transfer package for designated airframe modules, including drawings, BOMs, materials, finishes, characteristics, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with mechanical design engineers early to optimize layups, joints, tooling interfaces, and tolerances.
• Serve as the final authority on product release packages and gate compliance before handing hardware to manufacturing.
• Manage engineering change orders and act as the primary contact for dispositions, non-conformances, and design clarification requests from production.
• Coordinate with production and suppliers to evaluate manufacturing constraints for composites and precision assemblies.
• Analyze production data and floor feedback to refine dossiers and update gate standards for future iterations.
