Job summary

Scalera, Zürich-based ETH Zurich spin-off, is hiring an ML engineer to own the ML behind our products end to end—from training and fine-tuning to serving production traffic. You’ll work with real tender data and customers, turning messy documents into actionable models.

If you've shipped models customers paid for or built production ML systems, this role is for you. You’ll collaborate with CEO/CTO, join a small team, and enjoy equity along with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities

• Training and fine-tuning: embedding models, retrievers, classifiers and LLMs trained on our data.
• Document understanding: pull structure, quantities and specs from tenders, orders and catalogs.
• Product matching: retrieval and LLM agents matching tender positions to products.
• Evaluation: offline benchmarks, per-customer evals and gating to prevent bad shipping.
• Training and serving infrastructure: automated retrain pipelines, GPU serving and vector search in production.
• Customer problems: diagnose and fix model errors for customers.
