Job summary

Batgroup in Switzerland seeks an Accountant to join the Finance team and manage day-to-day accounting while supporting growth. You will handle the full accounting cycle, ensure accurate records, and contribute to financial operations.

The role involves GL management, AP/AR oversight, reconciliations, and month-/year-end close, plus Swiss VAT and compliance. Fluency in French and English is required; German is a strong asset.

Qualifications

• Swiss OR knowledge and accounting principles apply.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Experience with modern ERP/accounting software; BI is a plus.
• Fluency in French and English (German a plus).
• Autonomous, accurate, and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger management and accurate transaction recording.
• Oversee Accounts Payable & Receivable and timely payments.
• Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist month-end and year-end close with accruals/prepayments.
• Support Swiss VAT returns and local tax compliance.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and versatile Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, and supporting the broader financial operations of the company. You will touch upon all aspects of the accounting cycle and play a key role in supporting our growth.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing. Ensure timely payments and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Reconciliations: Perform regular bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist the Finance Manager with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, prepayments, and standard journal entries.
• Taxes & Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of Swiss VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and Swiss accounting standards (Code des obligations).Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Process Optimization: Continuously look for ways to improve, automate, and streamline accounting processes and internal controls.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Brevet Fédéral de spécialiste en finance et comptabilité (in progress or completed), or CFC d'employé(e) de commerce with a strong accounting focus.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of proven experience as an Accountant, ideally within a fast-paced corporate, startup, or scale-up environment.
• Technical Skills: * Solid understanding of Swiss accounting principles (Swiss OR).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with modern ERP systems or accounting software (BI a plus)
• Languages: Fluency in French and English is required (both written and spoken). German is considered a strong asset.

  • Highly analytical with problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, handle confidential information, and meet strict deadlines.
