You will support the sanctions framework, interpret developments across regimes and coordinate actions with multiple stakeholders. Fluent English is mandatory; German is a plus.

Sanctions Risk & Compliance Expert (asap opportunity)

For one of our clients, a leading global reinsurance company, we are looking for an experienced Sanctions Risk & Compliance Expert to support its global sanctions risk framework and contribute to the delivery of key framework priorities.

The role offers the opportunity to work on complex international sanctions topics within a global environment and collaborate with stakeholders across different business units and functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance of clients sanctions framework.


• Interpret sanctions developments across various regimes, coordinate business impact assessments and required actions across relevant teams, draft communications, and support framework changes.


• Provide expert advisory support on sanctions topics and develop position papers to enable consistent guidance across business units.


• Ensure thorough documentation of work performed.


• Support reporting of key sanctions developments and impacts through Compliance reporting.


• Support ongoing sanctions-related projects, enhancements, training & awareness efforts, and tooling.

Your Profile

• At least five-year of sanctions experience, with a strong preference for insurance industry experience.


• Experience working within a second line / Compliance function.


• Deep expertise in financial, economic and trade sanctions across key regimes, including US, UK, UN, EU and Swiss.


• Proven experience translating sanctions developments across regimes, regulations and programs into business impacts and appropriate risk responses.


• Experience in supporting sanctions risk framework and its components including policies, processes, country risk assessments, sanctions risk factors and controls.


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across seniority levels.
