Hexagon Robotics is seeking a Robotics Solutions Engineer - End-Effectors to own the evaluation, selection, and standardization of end-effectors for AEON. You will translate customer needs into scalable hardware solutions, coordinating with field teams, engineers, and partners to ensure seamless integration.
You will shape a long-term manipulation roadmap, drive platform thinking, and support pilots and deployments across multiple industrial use cases.
Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.
We are looking for a Robotics Solutions Engineer - End-Effectors to own the evaluation, selection, and standardization of end-effectors across our humanoid robotics platform. In this role, you will work closely with customers, field teams, robotics engineers, manipulation experts, and external partners to understand application requirements and translate them into scalable end-effector solutions.
You will play a key role in defining how AEON interacts with the physical world. The company is actively exploring how a small set of standardized end-effector configurations can support a broad range of industrial use cases while reducing cost and complexity.
Own the end-effector strategy across different industrial robotics applications.
Analyze customer workflows and operational requirements to identify the most suitable end-effector solutions.
Evaluate and select commercially available end-effectors including grippers, suction systems, hooks, tool changers, robotic hands, cameras, and specialized tooling.
Drive standardization and platform thinking by reducing the number of end-effector variants while maximizing use-case coverage.
Define requirements for future end-effector solutions based on customer needs, product requirements, and engineering constraints.
Coordinate and manage relationships with external suppliers, technology partners, and development vendors.
Support feasibility studies, proof-of-concepts, customer evaluations, and pilot deployments.
Define evaluation criteria, benchmarking methodologies, and trade-off analyses for end-effector technologies.
Develop business cases and technical recommendations for buy-vs-build decisions.
Track emerging technologies and market trends in manipulation, grasping, vacuum handling, tactile sensing, dexterous hands, and industrial tooling.
Ensure successful integration of selected end-effectors into the robotic platform and deployment workflows.
Contribute to the development of a long-term manipulation and tooling roadmap.
