Job summary

Nabla is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Zürich to design, build and deploy core mechanical systems for our autonomous cleaning robot. You will work on end‑to‑end hardware development from concept through prototyping to production readiness.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create reliable electromechanical solutions, validate through tests, and contribute to scalable manufacturing of hundreds of units.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a professional Mechanical Engineering environment, preferably Robotics, Automotive, or Aerospace.
• Strong CAD modeling experience (Onshape)
• Experience with metals and plastics manufacturing processes
• Experience in robotics actuation systems (e.g. BLDC motors, gearboxes, encoders, torque sensors)
• Experience in fluid systems (e.g. water pumps, valves, nozzles)
• Experience writing basic software for test benches independently (Python, C++)

Responsibilities

• Build custom electromechanical systems from a robot arm and grippers to automatic tool changers, to a docking station
• Build cleaning-specific mechanical systems like cleaning end-effector tools and fluid systems
• Drive our HIL testing efforts to prove effectiveness and durability of our mechanical systems
• Contribute to the industrialization efforts required to manufacture hundreds of robots
