Job summary

RIVR, part of Amazon, is building the next generation of autonomous robots for last-mile delivery. Join as Engineering Manager for Fleet & Cloud Systems to lead backend and infrastructure engineers building the server-side brains of our robotics platform.

You will drive the Cloud team's roadmap, scale ML workflows, and ensure high availability, observability, and secure, reliable software for real-world robotics operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years leading engineering teams, managing sprints, and coaching developers.
• 7+ years building and operating backend systems in SOA/microservices.
• Proven AWS architecture experience.
• Experience with ML training infrastructure integrated into SDLC.
• Strong leadership, ownership, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 5–8 DevOps, backend and full-stack engineers.
• Partner with other teams to design end-to-end features for robot ops.
• Collaborate with software org to structure projects and timelines.
• Represent team in technical and product discussions with stakeholders.
• Own sprint planning, backlog, and roadmap execution, remove blockers.
• Evaluate technical decisions and short-long term tradeoffs.
• Raise the bar for availability, latency, and observability; oversee on-call rotations.
• Translate operational requirements into scalable technical milestones.
