Job summary

Embodied AI SA in Lausanne seeks a senior engineer to own the learning stack, from data collection and training to deployment across the robot fleet, spanning edge and cloud environments. You will set the technical direction for this stack and ensure policies operate on the factory floor, not just in the lab, delivering production-ready solutions with real customer impact.

About Embodied AI

Embodied AI builds robots that do real work in factories of leading industrial manufacturers. Our amazing team operates in Amsterdam, Lausanne and Rome; we build and own the hardware and software stack to make our robots move.

The role

As part of our AI team, you will own our learning stack and its integration into our robot fleet, from low-level policies on the robots up to policies for fleet management running in the cloud. We take a pragmatic approach: we deploy policies to our customers to solve their problems, and our focus is on integrating our technological breakthroughs of the past years into a production-ready stack. You will set the technical direction of this stack and make sure the policies we deploy work on the factory floor, not only in the lab.

What you will do

• Own the learning stack end to end: data collection, training, evaluation and deployment of policies to our robot fleet.
• Own its integration into the fleet, across edge and cloud.
• Decide what to learn and what to engineer, and choose approaches that meet the customer's target.
• Work with the AI, hardware and field teams, including on customer sites.

What you bring

• 5+ years in robot learning, with policies running on real robots.
• Hands-on knowledge in imitation learning for manipulation
• Deploying models on edge and cloud compute.
• A pragmatic mindset: you ship to customer milestones and pick the method that works.

Nice to have

• Experience with the NVIDIA ecosystem: Isaac, Jetson.
• Vision-language models for robotics.
• DevOps and MLOps (Docker, ROS 2): shipping policies into production.
• Experience managing a team of AI engineers.
• Contact-rich or bimanual manipulation, reinforcement learning, sim-to-real.
