Job summary

Laelaps AI Ltd. in Zürich is seeking a Software Engineer intern to work on the robot autonomy stack for legged security robots, focusing on perception, localisation, and navigation, with opportunities to run code on real hardware.

You will own a well-scoped problem from first experiment to deployment on hardware, collaborating with PhD-level founders, and you will gain hands-on experience with ROS 2, Linux, Docker, and Git across day and night field tests.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD, or recently completed in related field.
• Strong coding skills in Python and experience with ROS 2.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve components of the on-robot autonomy stack (perception, localisation, state estimation, planning, navigation).
• Integrate sensors (lidar, cameras, IMU) and work with data in various conditions.
• Reproduce field issues from logs and simulations; identify root causes and implement fixes.
