Context
As part of the reinforcement of an R&D team specializing in satellite communication technologies, we are looking for a RF / Antenna Engineer (M/F) to join an engineering team based in Lausanne.
You will join an interdisciplinary R&D team of highly skilled and passionate engineers working on the development of advanced antenna technologies for airborne and land-mobile applications.
The position offers the opportunity to work across the RF development lifecycle, from early-stage demonstrators to industrialized designs ready for mass production, within a highly innovative technological environment.
Tasks
Responsibilities
RF Design, Simulation & Characterization
- Collaborate with RF and Antenna Design Engineers to define, simulate, test and characterize RF subsystems and antennas.
- Contribute to RF and microwave development activities.
- Perform RF testing and characterization activities.
- Analyze test results and identify deviations from expected performance.
RF & Microwave Engineering
- Apply your knowledge of RF and microwave theory to practical engineering challenges.
- Contribute to the design and testing of RF structures and building blocks.
- Work with RF technologies across Ka, Ku, X, C and S bands.
- Contribute to the development of RF structures and building blocks for phased array antenna systems.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
- Investigate technical issues encountered during development and testing.
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
R&D & Industrialization
- Work on both early-stage demonstrators and new industrialized designs.
- Support the development of solutions intended for mass production.
- Collaborate with different engineering disciplines throughout the product development lifecycle.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Accurately document test activities, results and technical investigations.
- Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external partners and laboratories when required.
- Take ownership of assigned activities and deliver them autonomously.
Requirements
Your profile
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in RF, microwave or antenna engineering.
- Proven experience in RF & Microwave or antenna development and research.
- Strong understanding of RF and microwave theory.
- Practical experience in RF / antenna design and testing is a strong plus.
- Experience designing RF structures and building blocks across Ka, Ku, X, C and S bands.
- Knowledge or experience with Phased Array Antennas.
- Experience with EDA and simulation tools such as CST, ADS, HFSS, TICRA and MATLAB.
- Experience working across different engineering disciplines and software workflows, including Altium.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous, well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned activities and work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary and hands-on engineering environment.
