Fortil is seeking an RF/Antenna Engineer to join its multidisciplinary R&D team in Vaud, Switzerland. You will design, simulate, test and characterize RF subsystems and antennas, collaborating with diverse engineers to advance demonstrators toward industrialized products.
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field and have 5+ years hands-on RF/microwave/antenna experience. Fluent English is mandatory, and you are autonomous and meticulous.

As part of the development of our activities in the canton of Vaud, we are looking for an RF/Antenna Engineer (M/F).
Reporting to a technical manager, you will join a multidisciplinary R&D team involved in the development of advanced RF subsystems and antenna technologies for highly demanding communication applications.
You will collaborate closely with RF and antenna design engineers to define, simulate, test and characterize RF subsystems and antennas. You will work on both early-stage demonstrators and industrialized solutions progressing toward series production.
Contribute to the design, simulation, testing and characterization of RF subsystems and antennas.
Collaborate with RF and antenna design engineers to define test strategies and characterization activities.
Develop and evaluate RF structures, microwave building blocks and phased-array antenna solutions.
Support the development of RF solutions operating across Ka, Ku, X, C and S frequency bands.
Prepare and operate RF measurement and characterization setups.
Analyse and correlate simulated and measured performance.
Investigate unexpected results and conduct root-cause analyses.
Define and implement corrective actions in collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Contribute to technical design reviews and engineering trade-off analyses.
Collaborate with external partners and specialized laboratories.
Produce accurate technical documentation, test reports and engineering conclusions.
Support the transition from early-stage demonstrators to robust and industrialized products.
Collaborate closely with electronic hardware, mechanical, software and system engineering teams.
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, RF Engineering, Electromagnetics or a related field.
You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in RF, microwave or antenna engineering, with proven involvement in the design, simulation, testing or characterization of RF subsystems and antennas.
You are a meticulous and autonomous engineer who enjoys experimental work, technical investigation and multidisciplinary collaboration.
5+ years of hands-on experience in RF, microwave or antenna engineering.
Strong understanding of RF and microwave theory.
Proven experience in RF or antenna development and research activities.
Experience testing and characterizing RF subsystems or antennas.
Knowledge of RF structures and building blocks operating in one or more of the following bands:
Ka-band.
Ku-band.
X-band.
C-band.
S-band.
Experience with electromagnetic or RF simulation tools such as CST, ADS, HFSS, TICRA or MATLAB.
Hands-on experience with RF measurement and laboratory instrumentation.
Ability to correlate simulation and measurement results.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Ability to document and communicate technical findings accurately.
Autonomous, meticulous and well-organized working style.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and international environment.
Experience designing or testing phased-array antenna systems.
Experience with antenna measurement and characterization environments.
Knowledge of electronically steered antenna technologies.
Experience taking RF designs from early-stage demonstrators through industrialization.
Familiarity with electronic hardware development tools, particularly Altium Designer.
Experience collaborating with external RF laboratories and technical partners.
Exposure to aerospace, satellite communications, airborne or land-mobile communication systems.
Experience supporting products intended for series production.
Fluent English is mandatory.
