Google is seeking a Research Scientist to design and deploy large-scale tests, prototype new architectures, and apply cutting-edge theories to real-world problems in machine learning, computer vision, and XR.

You will publish findings with internal teams and partner universities, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to translate foundational research into realtime spatial AI and responsive on-device interactions for Android XR devices.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience in Python or C++ for rapid prototyping and production-grade development.
• Experience in software engineering.

• Prototype, develop, and deploy advanced spatial perception and visual tracking algorithms for Android XR devices.
• Design low-latency capabilities that enable AI models to interact with physical objects in real time.
• Optimize on-device machine learning algorithms to achieve high precision within power, thermal, and compute constraints.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate foundational computer vision research into intuitive visual interactions.
• Advance the long-term technical roadmap for spatial AI across current and next-generation XR wearable platforms.
