Research Manager – Ruminant Nutrition

Department: Research & Development, Animal Nutrition

The Animal Nutrition division is part of ADM’s global Nutrition business, alongside its Human Nutrition and Health & Wellness divisions. The Global Animal Nutrition Research team is located across three sites in North America, France, and Switzerland, focusing on the development of innovative, science-based products and technologies.

ADM’s Animal Nutrition Science & Technology group is seeking a Principal Scientist in Ruminant Nutrition Research. This position will be responsible for leading the development and execution of ADM’s research projects in ruminant nutrition.

Role

The successful candidate will play a key role within the team and will lead the development of innovative, science-based products that differentiate ADM in the market by:

• Managing the ruminant research pipeline and leveraging ADM’s capabilities to deliver a unique research program for ruminant applications.
• Leading the exploration of new concepts, ideas, and technologies to address customer needs.
• Managing and executing the research pipeline in alignment with the global ruminant research strategy.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of feed ingredients, additives, and solution technologies, as well as their impact on rumen physiology, metabolism, immune status, and overall ruminant health and well-being.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead solution development projects from end to end, managing R&D activities and coordinating cross-functional project workstreams including Commercial, Regulatory, Production, and other relevant functions.
• Work with internal R&D facilities to conduct discovery activities and proof-of-concept studies, from in vitro to in vivo.
• Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions and industry partners.
• Promote ADM Animal Nutrition through peer-reviewed scientific publications and presentations.
• Support the development of intellectual property.

Your Profile

• Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition, Ruminant Nutrition, Animal Sciences, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in the ruminant nutrition industry.
• Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate, and execute product development projects from end to end.
• Willingness to work closely with laboratory teams and R&D farms as needed.
• Ability to participate in and influence teams to drive alignment and successful delivery of objectives.
• Strong interest in customer interaction.
• Proven proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others in a global environment.
• Fluent in English.
