Jobgether SRL in Switzerland seeks a Software Engineer, Trust & Safety, to design and build real-time enforcement systems protecting legitimate senders while stopping abuse across a globally distributed platform.

The role emphasizes ownership from discovery to production, with a remote team in a security-focused environment, competitive USD compensation, and close collaboration with developers who rely on the platform.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Deep hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React, ideally including frameworks such as Hono and Next.js.
• Experience with Go or a strong willingness to use it for latency-sensitive backend services.
• Solid infrastructure and reliability engineering skills, including experience with AWS, AWS CDK, and Datadog.
• Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven architectures, queues, and stateful services.
• Experience designing resilient systems that fail safely, with an emphasis on treating false positives as defects that must be investigated and addressed.
• Strong observability practices, including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, error handling, and production monitoring.
• Ability to take ownership across the stack, from frontend applications to backend services, databases, and messaging infrastructure.
• Proven experience working with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Preferred: Previous experience in trust and safety engineering, fraud prevention, cybersecurity, or abuse detection.
• Preferred: Experience building real-time enforcement systems, such as rate limiting, or rules engines using policy languages such as CEL.
• Preferred: Experience deploying machine learning or large language model-based detection systems in production, including measuring precision and recall.
• Preferred: Knowledge of email security and deliverability concepts, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounces, complaints, and phishing campaigns.
• Preferred: Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Build real-time enforcement systems that operate with millisecond latency.
• Design scalable detection pipelines from email signals to automated actions.
• Develop and maintain detection rules and enforcement policies.
• Detect and contain account takeovers and leaked API keys safely.
• Establish feedback, measurement, and rule refinement mechanisms.
• Automate investigations, appeals, and bulk enforcement workflows.
• Build and deploy ML classifiers for spam/phishing detection with proven precision.
• Ensure safeguards, reliability, explainability, and reversibility of decisions.
• Maintain comprehensive observability across logs, metrics, tracing, and errors.
• Contribute across frontend, backend, databases, queues, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers and platform users to deliver dependable solutions.
• Take ownership from discovery to production deployment.
