Job summary

Coopers Group AG in Zürich seeks a Senior AI-Native Software Engineer to drive AI-powered transformation of PDLC/SDLC in a banking context. This freelance role emphasizes coaching engineers and delivering hands-on AI-driven development workflows.

You will design agentic workflows, integrate AI tools, and establish governance for autonomous AI agents while mentoring teams in modern DevOps and testing practices.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on software engineering experience with enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in generative AI and LLMs, including RAG and agentic workflows.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools and coding agents such as GitHub Copilot.
• Experience implementing AI-powered automation within projects and knowledge of DevOps and modern development practices.
• Understanding of PDLC/SDLC from discovery to maintenance.
• Proven coaching and mentoring of software engineers and delivering technical training.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive the transition to an end-to-end AI-powered, autonomous software development model.
• Design and implement agentic workflows where AI agents analyze requirements, write and modify code, execute tests, and support code reviews.
• Integrate and automate AI-driven solutions within enterprise applications and complex development environments.
• Define quality standards, human approval gates, and governance for safe and traceable AI agents.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish AI-native ways of working and coach engineers.
• Deliver hands-on training sessions and workshops to strengthen AI engineering capabilities and adoption.
