Zusammenfassung

Alignerr in Zurich is seeking a Robotics Simulation Engineer to design, build, and optimize high-fidelity simulations bridging virtual environments and real robotics. You will work on simulation pipelines powering training, testing, and validation for robotic systems.

Remote, hourly contract, with 10–40 hours per week. The role emphasizes collaboration with researchers and engineers to maximize sim-to-real transfer and performance of diverse robot models.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience with at least one major robotics simulator (MuJoCo, Isaac Sim or Gazebo).
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ in robotics or scientific computing context.
• Solid understanding of rigid-body dynamics, contact mechanics and control theory.
• Experience creating and validating robot models (URDF, MJCF, or SDF).
• Familiarity with ROS2 and integration with simulation environments.
• Ability to work with simulation pipelines from setup to data collection and evaluation.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented and capable of working independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and drive to close the sim-to-real gap.

Aufgaben

• Design and implement high-fidelity robot models with accurate kinematics and dynamics.
• Build and maintain simulation environments using MuJoCo, Isaac Sim and Gazebo.
• Develop end-to-end simulation pipelines for robot training, testing and validation.
• Tune friction, damping, inertia and actuator models for better sim-to-real transfer.
• Integrate simulations with ROS2 for perception, planning and control workflows.
• Write clean, performant Python and/or C++ code to support simulation infrastructure.
• Collaborate asynchronously with robotics researchers and engineers on design.
• Profile and optimize simulation performance for large scale or parallel runs.
• Document configurations, parameters and pipeline architecture.
