Job summary

Sunflower Labs is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to design, build and test hardware for our next-generation drone systems in Switzerland. You will contribute from CAD and drawings through prototyping and testing, turning ideas into practical, manufacturable hardware.

Responsibilities include refining components, fixtures and assembly processes, while applying DFMA and documenting designs and tests. English communication and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building and testing mechanical components or assemblies.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, with good drawing and tolerancing knowledge.
  • Ability to prototype, test, iterate, and turn findings into manufacturable designs.
  • Strong written and spoken English and collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

  • Design and revise mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks and draw up BOMs.
  • Build, assemble and test prototypes; use results to improve designs.
  • Design jigs and fixtures to support prototyping, assembly and testing.
  • Apply DFMA principles; incorporate feedback from team, suppliers and production.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines to integrate parts and document work.
