Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Network & Security Engineer in a fully remote role based in Switzerland. You will manage firewall operations, VPNs, and network design across customer environments, using pfSense and OPNsense to ensure secure, reliable connectivity.

You will collaborate with SOC, automate tasks with Ansible/Python/Bash, and document configurations and best practices for ongoing network operations. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with German a plus.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional network and security experience required.
• Hands-on pfSense and OPNsense firewall platforms expertise.
• Strong IPSec VPN implementation, configuration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with BGP or other dynamic routing protocols.
• Solid IPv4/IPv6 networking knowledge.
• Experience with switches (preferably Dell) and Proxmox networking.
• Introductory practical experience with network automation using Ansible, Python, or Bash.
• A proactive, documentation‑driven approach and collaboration within distributed teams.
• Fluency in English and Spanish; German knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day network and firewall operations and contribute to projects.
• Independently implement, configure, and document IPSec VPNs and firewall rules.
• Design and document network environments for customer and internal projects.
• Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, and VPN connectivity issues.
• Configure IPv4/IPv6 and dynamic routing protocols; manage switching tech.
• Develop basic network automation with Ansible, Python, or Bash.
• Collaborate with SOC to analyze firewall logs and incidents.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge within the team.
• Participate in rotating NOC/SOC duties including nights and weekends.
