Relationship Manager – Private Banking
Our client, one of the largest European banks having their WM operations in Geneva and Zurich, is looking for a Relationship Manager to join the team in Geneva.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to join our Wealth Management team in Geneva. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of HNW and UHNW clients, delivering tailored wealth management and advisory solutions, and contributing to the bank's growth through new client acquisition and asset gathering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of HNW/UHNW private clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all banking and wealth management needs.
- Proactively acquire new clients and assets under management through personal networks, referrals, and the bank's broader business development initiatives.
- Design and propose tailored investment strategies and solutions in coordination with the bank's investment advisory, asset management, and family office teams.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews with clients, ensuring alignment with their risk profile, investment objectives, and evolving needs.
- Ensure full compliance with FINMA regulations, internal policies, and KYC/AML requirements throughout the client relationship lifecycle, including onboarding, periodic due diligence, and risk classification.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation and CRM records.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including investment advisors, credit officers, legal/compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless client service delivery.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum approx. 7 years of experience as a Relationship Manager or similar client-facing role within private banking or wealth management.
- Demonstrated track record of acquiring and managing HNW/UHNW client relationships and growing assets under management in Europe, Asia, MENA, LATAM or the US.
- Strong knowledge of investment products, wealth structuring, and financial markets.
- Solid understanding of Swiss regulatory and compliance requirements (FINMA, AML/KYC, cross-border regulations) a plus (training/certification is offered by the bank).
- Existing network of private clients and/or intermediaries.
- University degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CWMA, CFA, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a client-centric and entrepreneurial mindset.
- High personal integrity and discretion, in line with the standards expected in private banking.
