Overview

Art Basel is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Regional Head of Sales to lead partnership sales and business development across the European region. This role is responsible for owning sales relationships with regionally based brands, while also pursuing category-specific global partnership opportunities in designated verticals (e.g., tech, luxury, fashion, finance, etc.).

As a key member of the global Partnerships leadership team, you’ll collaborate closely with the Commercial Strategy team to design impactful go-to-market strategies and pitch new products and platforms. You will lead a team of Sales Managers, contribute to global revenue goals, and play a central role in shaping the next generation of Art Basel partnerships.

Regional Revenue Leadership
  • Deliver to the regional fair revenue budgets, overseeing all aspects of client outreach, pipeline management, and deal closure.
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with brands based in your assigned region, aligning their goals with Art Basel’s creative platform for presence and partnerships in all of Art Basel’s 5 fairs.
  • Individually close deals and manage the deal flow of the direct reporting team.
  • Lead a team of 1–2 Sales Managers, supporting coaching, accountability, and sales performance.
Global Category Development
  • Own designated global brand categories and lead proactive outreach to relevant brands regardless of region, working in partnership with other sales leaders.
  • Develop deep expertise in category trends, competitive partnerships, and whitespace for new Art Basel integrations.
Strategic GTM & Product Alignment
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Strategy team to shape localized and category-focused go-to-market (GTM) strategies, pricing models, and offering structures.
  • Actively shape sales narratives and strategic proposals for both core fair platforms and new commercial initiatives.
Innovation & New Initiative Sales
  • Identify and lead sales for new business opportunities and initiatives, including offsite activations, branded content, and platform-wide integrations.
  • Act as a creative partner to brands—developing custom solutions that integrate with Art Basel’s cultural agenda and elevate partner visibility.
Global Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with other Regional Heads of Sales to drive a consistent and aligned sales approach across regions and shows.
  • Support cross-fair partner growth and foster internal communication across the Partnerships team.
  • Contribute to global sales planning, forecasting, and pipeline health tracking.
Sales Operations & Excellence
  • Maintain CRM discipline, pipeline tracking, and performance reporting with accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure proposal quality, contract compliance, and alignment of activations with internal teams (Production, Legal, Marketing, etc.).
  • Serve as a commercial ambassador for Art Basel in both client-facing and industry settings.

  • 8+ years of experience in brand partnerships, sales, or business development—ideally in culture, media, luxury, or creative sectors.
  • Proven ability to own and grow key regional relationships while selling globally within defined verticals.
  • Demonstrated success managing high-performing sales teams and delivering to ambitious revenue targets.
  • Strong track record of selling bespoke, high-value partnerships.
  • Comfortable navigating cross-functional, global organizations and working collaboratively with peers.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English required; other regional languages are a plus.
  • Deep appreciation for the arts and cultural innovation.
  • Nice to have: Prior experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
