Job summary

agap2 Switzerland is seeking a Certification Manager Railway to lead approval and certification activities in international rolling stock modernization projects. You will interface with customers, authorities, assessment bodies, and engineers to ensure safe and compliant solutions.

You will develop certification strategies, assess modifications, and provide expert advice on regulatory requirements, while coordinating cross-functional teams and managing documentation and timelines across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience in railway certification, approval and technical project management.
• Good understanding of rolling stock systems, safety requirements and certification processes.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams and external stakeholders in complex projects.
• Experience with requirements, verification, evidence and document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage approval and certification activities throughout the lifecycle of international rolling stock modernization projects.
• Develop and implement certification and approval strategies for complex modernization projects.
• Coordinate with authorities, infrastructure operators, assessment bodies and other stakeholders to ensure compliant approval processes.
• Act as the technical and certification interface between customers, engineering, testing, safety, suppliers and service locations.
• Assess modifications and configuration changes for their impact on certification and safety.
• Provide expert advice to engineering and product teams on certification requirements during sales and development phases.
• Ensure compliance with railway standards, safety regulations, customer requirements and approval processes.
• Support the definition of verification, validation, testing and documentation strategies for certification.
• Monitor certification activities, milestones, risks and resources to ensure timely execution.
• Prepare and present certification concepts, documentation, status reports and management presentations.
