Job summary

Nestlé SA invites you to join as a Packaging Development Intern at the NPTC Coffee facility, supporting the development and industrialization of innovative packaging for Nescafé Dolce Gusto.

You will work with packaging experts, project managers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, gaining hands-on experience in materials and testing while contributing to sustainability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or pursuing Master’s in Packaging, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong interest in packaging development and industrialization.
• Knowledge of polymer materials and sealing technologies.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization and evaluation of new packaging materials.
• Participate in laboratory activities, pilot line trials, and testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to assess performance.
• Lead or contribute to test reports and project presentations.
• Contribute to material optimization, sustainability, and cost-reduction efforts.

As a R&D Packaging Development Intern at Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee), your mission is to support the development and industrialization of innovative packaging solutions for the Nescafé Dolce Gusto business. You will make a difference by collaborating closely with packaging experts, project managers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. How you’ll make an impact as a Packaging Development Intern

• Support the industrialization and evaluation of new packaging materials for strategic Nescafé Dolce Gusto projects.
• Participate in laboratory activities, pilot line trials, and packaging testing to validate technical solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to assess packaging performance and support implementation activities.
• Lead or contribute to technical discussions with suppliers and prepare test reports and project presentations.
• Help drive packaging innovation by supporting projects focused on material optimization, sustainability, and cost reduction.

What will make you successful

• Recent graduate or currently completing a Master's degree in Packaging, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of polymer materials and sealing technologies, with a genuine interest in packaging development and industrialization
• Strong analytical skills combined with attention to detail and systems thinking. Knowledge of SPSS software is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional and international stakeholders
• Proactive, agile and independent mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate on projects
