Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich's Trapped Ion Quantum Information group (TIQI) seeks a Software/Embedded Systems Engineer to develop, maintain and improve the software and firmware that support our experiments. The role spans embedded devices and Python-based control software, with opportunities to influence long-term architecture.

You will work with physicists and engineers on a fixed-term contract, contributing to laboratory-wide control systems, hardware drivers, data acquisition, and automation.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a closely related field.
• Excellent English communication; German knowledge is favorable but not required.
• Experience with embedded systems, FPGAs and scientific software is highly valued.

Aufgaben

• Develop, maintain and debug software across embedded and higher-level control layers.
• Create and maintain hardware drivers, APIs and CI/CD pipelines.
• Help shape the architecture of the experimental control system and assist end users.
