Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich's TIQI group seeks a Software/Embedded Systems Engineer to develop, maintain and improve software and firmware that support trapped-ion experiments. The role spans low-level embedded software and higher-level control software, with potential focus on either embedded firmware or Python-based control and automation.

You will work with C/C++, FPGA gateware (Verilog/SystemVerilog), and higher-level software, using open-source FPGA tools and CI/CD pipelines, in a collaborative lab

Qualifikationen

• Masters in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or closely-related field.
• Excellent English communication skills; German favorable but not required.
• Experience with embedded software/FPGA projects valued.
• Background in scientific/technical software engineering is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develop, maintain and debug software across low-level firmware to higher-level control software.
• Contribute to hardware drivers, APIs, automation and monitoring services.
• Join architecture discussions and help plan the experimental control system.
• Support end users and contribute to documentation, examples and training materials.
