Quant Trading Engineer – Python for Commodities

Job summary

SGI is seeking a Trading / Python Quant Engineer to join our commodities trading team in Zurich or Geneva on a 12 month contract. You will work in a tight knit, high performing environment with a dynamic developer team.

Applicants hold a Master in Computer Science or equivalent, strong Python and Pandas, Excel VBA, and practical software engineering experience. Proficiency in SQL, Java, Linux/Windows admin, and AWS is a plus. English required; French or German a plus.

Qualifications

• Master in Computer Science (or equivalent) is required; financial engineering – maths – economics
• Good knowledge of Excel and Excel VBA
• Good knowledge of Python and Pandas
• Good experience on Software Engineering
• Hands on experience with 1st or 2nd level support of Business-Critical Applications
• Experience in Linux and Windows administration
• Experience in writing SQL queries
• Java, AWS Cloud Services, Bash scripting, Full Stack development appreciated.
• C#.NET, Outlook VBA can be useful but not mandatory
• Personality: able to work under pressure, result oriented, analytical mindset permitting to quickly identify, and fix issues encountered
• Collaborative environment that emphasizes a healthy climate in the team.
• Languages: Good English Skills, French and/or German a plus.
