About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to coordinate renovation, construction and property improvement projects across a portfolio of properties.
Based in Nyon, the successful candidate will work between the office and properties in the surrounding area, with opportunities to contribute to projects elsewhere in Switzerland and internationally. The Project Manager will establish clear project plans, coordinate internal and external contributors, monitor deadlines and budgets, and ensure that projects remain on track.
This is primarily a project management and coordination role, rather than a technical construction or site management position. The successful candidate will combine strong project management experience with a practical understanding of construction and renovation projects.
The environment is fast-moving and entrepreneurial. We are looking for someone proactive, flexible and hands-on, with a strong can-do attitude and the confidence to manage several projects, follow up persistently and hold contributors as well as themselves accountable.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Organisation
- Develop project plans covering scope, responsibilities, deadlines, budgets, dependencies and key milestones.
- Establish clear project structures, processes and reporting methods.
- Break projects into clear, actionable tasks and assign deadlines to internal team members and external contractors.
- Identify risks, dependencies and missing information before they affect delivery.
- Maintain a reliable consolidated overview of multiple projects running simultaneously.
Project Coordination & Follow-up
- Coordinate architects, builders, plumbers, electricians, engineers, contractors, suppliers and internal team members.
- Follow up directly and persistently on outstanding actions and missed deadlines.
- Ensure each contributor understands their responsibilities, priorities and deadlines.
- Organise and lead regular project progress meetings.
- Record decisions, actions and responsibilities clearly.
- Resolve coordination gaps and elevate significant delays or issues when intervention is required.
Budget & Progress Monitoring
- Establish and maintain project budgets and cost-tracking processes.
- Monitor approved budgets, commitments and expected expenditure.
- Identify potential budget overruns at an early stage.
- Monitor progress against the agreed plan and key milestones.
- Prepare concise weekly reports covering progress, deadlines, risks, budgets and decisions required.
Systems, Technology & Process Improvement
- Use project management software to maintain plans, responsibilities, deadlines, documents and reporting.
- Ensure project information is complete, accurate and regularly updated.
- Help improve internal workflows, templates, reporting and project management systems.
- Identify opportunities to simplify or automate repetitive processes.
- Use artificial intelligence tools effectively, or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn.
- Encourage consistent use of project management systems across the team.
Desired Profile
- Minimum 6 years of project management experience.
- Experience managing construction, renovation or property improvement projects.
- A background with a property developer, architecture practice, construction/renovation company or design practice would be a plus.
- Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously using a clear and effective methodology.
- Experience using project management software.
- Practical understanding of budgets, commitments, deadlines, dependencies and project risks.
- Experience coordinating architects, designers, engineers, contractors and other contributors.
- Highly organised and structured, with strong attention to detail.
- Persistent and disciplined with follow-ups.
- Practical, resourceful, solution-oriented with a strong can-do attitude.
- Independent, open-minded, adaptable and willing to learn.
- Interested in technology, digital tools, artificial intelligence and workflow improvement.
- High level of discretion, professionalism and sound judgement.
- Fluent English and French are mandatory.
- Based in or able to commute regularly to Nyon.
- Valid driving licence and authorisation to work in Switzerland required.
- Willing to travel between the office and properties in the region.
- Flexible regarding working hours when required by project priorities, site activity or urgent issues.
What We Offer
- A central role coordinating a varied portfolio of property renovation and improvement projects.
- Direct involvement in project planning, delivery, budgeting and decision-making.
- The opportunity to introduce better project management methods and improve existing systems.
- Significant independence, ownership and responsibility.
- A fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where initiative and problem-solving are valued.
- Long-term development opportunities within a growing real estate company.
- A collaborative and engaging working environment, with close interaction with ownership, the internal team and external project partners.
- A flexible working style, combining responsibility with regular collaboration and travel to project locations.
- The opportunity to make an impact on the company’s direction, processes and future development.
- The opportunity to join a fast-growing team and contribute to the development of an expanding property portfolio.
- This opportunity may particularly suit an experienced project manager working for a property developer, architecture practice or design practice who would like to take broader responsibility for coordinating multiple projects from the client side.
