Ideal candidates hold a engineering degree and have 5–10 years leading large-scale capital projects, including diagnostics-related initiatives.

The Position

With an eye to the future, we are actively shaping the continued development of the Roche site in Rotkreuz. The Engineering & Project department makes a vital contribution to this endeavour: It holds the responsibility for the strategic advancement of the site and all capital investments in buildings and facilities (CAPEX). This encompasses complex construction projects as well as the realization of infrastructure and modern process plants in the areas of production and research. In all our activities, we place particular emphasis on sustainability, safety (SHE), quality, and cost-effectiveness.

The Opportunity

• End-to-End Project Delivery: Accountable that design and execution meet all objectives (scope, cost, schedule, quality, SHE, sustainability) outlined in approved documents (Credit Application, Requirements, etc.), while ensuring strict adherence to internal project methodologies, corporate directives, and local building codes.
• Team & Vendor Management: Establish, onboard, and lead internal cross‑functional teams while managing external partners (planners, contractors), including active involvement in procurement, tendering, and contract negotiations.
• Project Controls & Financial Close: Implement robust project controls (progress, risk, change management) and accurate monthly forecasting (PMR). Report status regularly to the Steering Committee and drive the commercial close‑out, including asset capitalization.
• Stakeholder Alignment & Handover: Ensure continuous alignment with business end‑users throughout the project lifecycle to guarantee successful commissioning (FAT/SAT, etc.) and a seamless, fully documented handover to operations.

Who you are

• Bachelor or Master/University degree in engineering, construction, or a related field
• Min 5-10 years work experience as project manager leading (large‑scale) capital investment projects
• Hands‑on experience with Diagnostics (DIA) projects is strongly preferred
• Leadership: Proven capability to build, motivate and guide teams within a matrix organization.
• Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and collaboration skills at all project levels, combined with a deep understanding of customer and business needs.
• Project Planning: Strong project management and planning expertise to consistently deliver complex initiatives.
• Analytical Skills, Risk Management: Very good analytical capabilities to identify risks early and solve complex challenges.
