Job summary

Lonza is seeking an R&D Project Lead for its Basel/Stein location to guide pharmaceutical development projects from early stages to readiness for market. The role includes ensuring timely QC work-packages and documentation, representing QC in meetings, and proactively addressing risks while maintaining cGMP compliance.

Ideal candidates hold an MSc/PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields, with analytics/QA experience under cGMP and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field
• Experience in Analytics or Quality Control under cGMP regulations
• Knowledge of analytical lifecycle for biotechnology products and CMC requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude
• Detail-oriented and able to work in a matrix organization
• Business fluent English, written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Lead pharmaceutical development projects from early phases to market readiness

• Represent QC in internal and customer meetings
• Address risks proactively and communicate effectively
