Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a PMO Lead to design, build, and implement a scalable PMO operating model that drives portfolio governance, delivery excellence, and strategic alignment. You will establish frameworks, processes, and tools to enable data-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration in a complex environment.

The role requires 10+ years in PMO/Transformation, hands-on experience with PMO tools, and strong stakeholder management. English fluency is essential; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in PMO, Portfolio/Program Management, or Transformation.
• Experience in building PMO functions.
• Expertise in governance, project controls, KPIs, and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership.
• Fluent English (German a plus).
• Hands-on with PMO tools such as MS Project, Jira, Power BI, SAP PPM.

• Define operating model, governance, roles, and Ways of Working; assess maturity and roadmap.
• Lead planning, prioritization, and governance of projects with visibility on risks and resources.
• Implement RAID, financial governance, KPIs, and dashboards for portfolio tracking.
• Develop reporting architecture, data governance, and performance dashboards.
• Assess PMO capabilities, define future-state setup and alignment with objectives.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement and Finance.

This hands‑on role requires establishing frameworks, processes, and tools to enable data-driven decision-making and cross‑functional collaboration in a complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define operating model, governance, roles, and Ways of Working; assess maturity and roadmap implementation.
• Lead planning, prioritization, and governance of projects; ensure visibility of risks, resources, and dependencies.
• Implement RAID, financial governance, KPIs, and executive dashboards for portfolio tracking.
• Develop reporting architecture, data governance, and performance dashboards to enable transparency.
• Assess PMO capabilities, define future-state setup, and align with business objectives.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to integrate portfolio decisions.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in PMO, Portfolio/Program Management, or Transformation with previous experience in building PMO functions.
• Experience in Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, FMCG, Manufacturing, Chemicals, or Engineering.
• Expertise in governance, project controls (RAID, change/financial), KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Fluent English (German is a plus).
• Hands-on with PMO tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Power BI, SAP PPM).
