Job summary

Microcaps is seeking a production operator to run and monitor our new production plant. You will work in a shift schedule (early and late) and collaborate with teammates on supporting tasks, aiming for continuous improvements in process parameters and equipment condition.

Ideal candidates hold a Swiss EFZ certificate (or equivalent) with 3–5 years GMP‑regulated experience, and can work in German (min B2) with good English (min B1). Driving license and Office 365 proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in GMP-regulated production in food, cosmetics, or pharma industries.
• German at least B2 and English at least B1 are musts.
• Category B driving license and ability to work in shifts (early/late).

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and clean production plant.
• Coordinate supply of raw materials and production of intermediates.
• Fine-tune process parameters with the industrialization team.
• Document work instructions and in-process controls.
• Troubleshoot minor issues with Quality & Development teams.
• Support process and plant optimization under LEAN principles.

Microcaps is an ETH Zurichspin-off founded in March 2019. Our unique technology allows us to producehighly precise and innovative microcapsules that empower materials to unlocknew capabilities; all tailored to various markets from cosmetics to nutraceuticaland pharma.

Today, Microcaps technology can be found in a cosmeticskin serum, encapsulated FineFragrance products and vegan caviar. Our aim is nowto expand our production capacity and introduce a visionary and sustainablewater-based fine fragrance. Subsequently, we plan to incorporate all-in-onenutrition delivery products into our portfolio. Join us on our mission to bringSwiss precision to the realm of microencapsulation.

Do you fit oneof the following criteria?

• 3–5years of professional experience in GMP-regulated production environmentin the food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries.

Microcaps iscurrently setting up a production site to scale our novel technology. Thisfirst site will encapsulate fine fragrances and other cosmetic products. Weneed smart committed people with a “can-do attitude” to work in our productionarea.

As an operatorfor your production plant, you work in a team on a shift schedule (early andlate shifts). Your main focus is operating the production machines, but youalso proactively coordinate with your teammates on a variety of support tasks.In all areas, you keep an eye out for potential improvements regarding processparameters, work instructions, as well as machine and infrastructureconditions.

Your role willinclude:

• Independent operation, monitoring, and cleaning of your production plant
• Coordinating and supporting the supply of necessary raw materials andthe production of intermediates.
• Teamwork with the industrialization team to fine-tune the processparameters
• Precise execution and documentation of work instructions &in-process controls
• Support trouble shooting ofout-of-spec (OOS) productions in collaboration with the Quality & Development Team
• Troubleshooting and execution of minor repairs & maintenance work
• Process and plant optimization including reduction of waste within the framework of LEAN and Shop floor management
• Compliance with our safety,quality, and hygiene standards

Thisrole is a good fit if you fulfil these requirements:

• Completed training with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence(EFZ), ideally as a polymechanic, production mechanic, plant operator, orin a comparable technical profession.
  Alternatively: training asbaker, chef, or similar profession combined with technical training orwork experience as a plant operator.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in GMP-regulated production environmentin the food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries, or in related fields(e.g., dairy/cheese, paints/coatings, engine oils, etc.).
• Strong technical understanding and enjoyment of operating,maintaining, and optimizing state-of-the‑art equipment.
• Willingness to work in shifts (early and late).
• Team-oriented and communicative working style within process teamsand shop floor management.
• Ability and enjoyment of self-organization.
• High awareness of safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
• Enthusiasm for building something new or continuously improvingexisting processes.
• Very good German (B2+) and good English skills (B1+) are a must.
• Category B driving license.
• Proficiency in Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, andExcel).
