Smallpdf is seeking a Product Manager for our core tools in Zurich. You will own the individual tools end to end, shaping the upload, processing, output quality and download experiences, while collaborating with SEO, growth and marketing to drive traffic and adoption.
You will lead with data, run experiments, and align engineering, design, and other product teams to deliver fast, user-friendly AI-powered features. This hybrid role is based in Zurich with a talented, global team.

Over 60 million people use Smallpdf every month to do one thing: compress a file, convert it, translate it, merge it. Our core tools are freemium and SEO-led: people find us through Google and, more and more, through AI assistants. They finish the job and leave.
As Product Manager for our core tools, you make that single task the fastest, easiest and best on the market, so search engines, AI assistants and people send users back. You own the individual tools end to end. Together with our growth team, you work on the channels that bring people to them: organic search, paid search and AI search. You work in Zurich with a fully staffed product team, including an EM, a designer and engineering counterparts, and closely with our SEO, growth and marketing teams.

Work with our SEO, SEM and growth teams on how people reach the tools, including positioning with marketing so people remember us by name
Help turn AI search and LLMs into a real acquisition channel, from first users to a tracked source of traffic
Ship AI features where they help users, with a clear process for accuracy, cost and quality before launch
Design, monitor and analyse experiments on millions of sessions, and ship, iterate or kill on the result
Run deep analyses and user research yourself, and be the voice of the user in every decision
Set the strategy and roadmap for your area from user feedback, data and business goals, with a commercial case, cost and outcome metrics for every bet
Align engineering, design, SEO, growth, marketing and other product teams on what ships and why
Lead without authority: manage up with clear recommendations, settle ownership with peer teams, and present plans and results to leadership and the whole company
Raise the bar around you: help your team own product decisions, give and take honest feedback, coach others, and step outside the PM role when it moves the needle
6+ years in product management
Hands-on A/B testing experience on a product with real traffic
AI in your daily work: workflows, analysis, prototyping, research. You know where it goes wrong and you check it
Experience defining need & quality for an AI feature, or a clear view of how you would do it
Comfortable talking with engineers about trade-offs, speed, errors and estimations
Dynamic and hands-on: you make quick decisions based on real data
Comfortable with ambiguity: you find the problem worth solving when nobody has named it yet
Curious and rigorous: you dig into the data yourself until the answer holds
You run user research yourself, and bring what you learn into decisions
Commercially minded: you know what a feature is worth before you build it
A clear communicator who aligns people without needing authority, with excellent written and spoken English
Document or file-processing products
A utility business with a strong free tier
Experience with high-volume consumer tools
Experience with SEO, SEM or AI search as acquisition channels
Important note: this is a hybrid role based in our Zurich office. You either already live in the Zurich area or are willing to relocate.
