Job summary

VAT Group in Haag (St. Gallen, CH) is seeking a CNC Technician – Milling to manufacture precision components on 3- and 5-axis machines. You will read drawings, program Siemens control systems, set up tools, and ensure dimensional accuracy and on-time delivery.

Requires a completed apprenticeship or technical training in polymechanics or CNC machining, several years’ milling experience, good drawing interpretation, and a reliable, team‑oriented work style. Shift work (2-3 shifts) may be required.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or technical training in polymechanics or CNC machining.
• Several years of CNC milling experience is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis).
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Siemens control systems.
• Manufacture parts and small to medium production batches from drawings.
• Select, prepare, and change cutting tools.
• Monitor processes for dimensional and geometric accuracy.
• Perform routine quality inspections with standard measuring equipment.
• Ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
