Proxima Fusion GmbH in Zurich seeks a skilled Power Electronics Engineer to design and validate power conversion systems for next-generation fusion power hardware. You will drive topology selection, magnetics, and high-frequency components, and translate requirements into robust, testable hardware.

Your work will span simulation, prototype builds, lab testing, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with electronics, mechanical, and software teams to push the boundaries of clean energy technology.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience taking power-stage designs from concept and simulation through prototype.
• Expertise in power conversion topologies, semiconductors, magnets, and passive components.
• Experience with electro-thermal simulation tools such as PLECS is a plus.
• Experience with SiC or GaN semiconductors and high-frequency magnetics is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate and develop power conversion topologies for converters, considering performance, efficiency, stresses, thermal, reliability, power density, and system requirements.
• Design and develop magnetic components such as inductors, transformers, and chokes, including material selection and winding concepts.
• Develop analytical and simulation models to evaluate converter behavior, stresses, losses, and performance across operating conditions.
• Build prototypes and perform laboratory testing, characterization, verification, troubleshooting, and validation of power electronic circuits.
• Analyse test results and correlate measurements with simulations to identify design improvements.
