EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland, invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to advance topology optimization of architected materials using fast simulation methods. The project FLASh integrates domain decomposition, reduced order modeling, and isogeometric analysis within a vibrant research group.

You will lead the design and implementation of innovative numerical algorithms, collaborate across disciplines, mentor students, and contribute to grant activities while publishing in top

Qualifikationen

  • PhD (or near completion) in mathematics, computational mechanics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in topology optimization (SIMP, level set, or related design-for-manufacturing frameworks).
  • Experience with numerical PDEs: finite element methods, immersed/unfitted methods, homogenization, or isogeometric analysis.

Aufgaben

  • Lead research on topology optimization methods for architected materials.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain in-house simulation and topology optimization software.
  • Publish results in leading journals; present at national and international conferences.
  • Mentor PhD and Master students and contribute to teaching activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and project reports.
