ETH Zurich’s Ethics, Technology and Society group invites applications for a full-time Post-doctoral researcher in Science, Technology and Society (STS) for up to two years. Applicants should have completed a PhD by January 2027 or within the last two years and hold a strong STS profile.

The candidate will conduct ethnographic and historical research on the impacts of digital technologies on children and youth in Switzerland and Europe, contribute to the SNSF project, and collaborate with the

Qualifications

PhD completed by January 2027 at the latest or within the last 2 years.
Strong background in STS, humanities pedagogy, and cross-cutting analysis between environmental and digital domains.
Proficiency in English, with French or German as additional language skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct qualitative STS research within the project States of Anxiety: Expertise and Activism in Digital and Ecological Environments.
Progress towards publications in international journals, including co-authored papers.
Engage with ETH Public Policy School, civil society, activist groups, and wider publics on ethical, social, and political aspects of digital technologies.
Participate in group events and assist with meetings, project maintenance, and conferences.
Collaborate with professors, students, and researchers within ETH Zürich and the international STS community.
Co-develop and co-teach MA and BA courses in the Science in Perspective Program.
