Zusammenfassung

Institute of Plant Sciences at the University of Bern invites applications for a fully funded post-doctoral position (2 years, extension possible) in the Stomatal Biology group. The project investigates how grasses pattern stomata and veins using single-cell genomics, live imaging, and biochemistry.

We seek a PhD in plant biology or related field with strong molecular genetics, microscopy and cell biology skills; experience with grass species and spatial transcriptomics is a plus.

Qualifikationen

  • Completed PhD in plant biology, developmental biology, molecular biology or related field.
  • Proficient written and oral English skills.
  • Solid experience in (plant) molecular genetics, microscopy, and cell biology.
  • Experience with model grass species and plant signaling is an advantage.

Aufgaben

  • Investigate how grass leaves coordinate vein and stomata development using spatial genomics, imaging, genetics and biochemistry.
  • Collaborate within the CSCS research unit to advance understanding of stomatal patterning under field-relevant conditions.
