Zusammenfassung

The University of Lausanne (UNIL) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in plant evolutionary biology in the John Pannell group, within the Department of Ecology and Evolution.

The position is initially for one year with potential extension up to five years; start date 01.12.2026; activity rate 100%.

The project focuses on rapid evolutionary change in sex allocation and mating systems in Mercurialis annua, using genomic, transcriptomic and quantitative-genetic analyses.

Qualifikationen

  • PhD in a relevant field (evolutionary biology, genetics, genomics).
  • Strong background in population and quantitative genetics.
  • Experience with bioinformatics and statistics.
  • Experience in experimental design is valuable.

Aufgaben

  • Investigate quantitative genetics and genomics of rapid evolutionary change in sex allocation and mating systems.
  • Utilize long-term experimental evolution data and stored material for ancestral vs evolved comparisons.
  • Perform genomic, transcriptomic and quantitative-genetic analyses.
  • Collaborate within a diverse research group and contribute to project direction.
