Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich in Zürich invites a postdoctoral researcher to study the interiors and long-term evolution of sub-Neptunes, within a cross-disciplinary network spanning planetary physics, geochemistry, chemistry and biology. The two-year position is embedded in the NCCR Genesis and offers access to a broad, Switzerland-wide research community.

We seek candidates to develop atmosphere-interior models, connect internal processes to observable spectra, and implement population analyses to test formation

Qualifikationen

  • PhD completed by the start date.
  • Strong programming in Python and use of version control in a collaborative codebase.
  • Experience in planetary interiors, atmospheres, or related modelling areas.

Aufgaben

  • Improve atmosphere-interior evolution models tailored to sub-Neptunes.
  • Investigate how interior mixing imprints on observable atmospheres.
  • Link modelling results to spectroscopically observed atmospheres.
  • Build frameworks to analyse populations of sub-Neptunes to test formation hypotheses.
