Job summary

ETH Zurich's Geothermal Energy & Geofluids (GEG) Group invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position in Process & Energy Systems Modeling. The role focuses on physics-based numerical modeling, software development, and engineering analysis of energy and fluid systems, from geothermal plants to CO₂ and lithium processing.

You will co-develop an open-source power plant and wellbore flow simulator integrated into TANGO, connect it to RAFT and other modules, and perform techno-economic

Qualifications

• Experience in physics-based numerical modeling.
• Proficiency in Python and scientific software development.
• Familiarity with techno-economic assessment and engineering analysis.
• Ability to translate physical problems into mathematical models.
• Strong collaboration and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based numerical models for energy and fluid systems, including geothermal plants and related processes.
• Implement, test, and maintain robust scientific software tools in Python with version control.
• Perform techno-economic assessments (LCOE, LCOH, NPV) and economic evaluations.
• Couple surface-subsurface models and integrate with existing GE G tools.
• Contribute to open-source simulation development and project reporting.
